I enjoy the process of illustrating people's stories and ideas and capturing the feeling they want to convey with each message. Since my teenage years I've been creating illustration works in a range of media including pencil, pen and ink, watercolour, acrylic and oils. Much of my working life has involved illustration work, much of it about the relationship of humans with the natural environment.

Childrens books
"Love for you, love for me" was a pleasure to illustrate since author Anita Spehar had already sketched her ideas out roughly and as I created the final pictures more ideas and adjustments happened. It's always a collaboration between author and illustrator. The book can be purchased from Anita via Liz.
The "Spirit of Self" and "Spirit of Water" books written by Marion Brownlie were quite a challenge to illustrate as emotions aren't always expressed in words but contained, held in, in body language and facial expression. Marion's "Feelings of Star" series includes "Star is Happy" and "Star is Hungry". Each book expresses the benefits of positive choices in childrens' lives. The books can be purchased via Marion's website.
Other books
As well as children's books I have also illustrated books for adults based on natural science. "Banksia: A Kangaroo's Tale" by Rob Simson contains my pen and ink drawings of a part fiction part science story about the life of a kangaroo in a human environment. Banksia can be purchased from Rob via Liz.
And when working for Queensland National Parks and Wildlife for over 8 years, I designed and created artwork for many large murals, as well as maps, displays, posters and information leaflets. My conceptual designs for architects and town planners and for "Gondwanaland" at Expo '88 in Brisbane are examples of outcomes from teamwork in planning projects.
Muttaburrasaurus. A large work 1.2 x 1.8 metres in size, it required many hours for the research and the painting. I like to listen to music while I work especially latin and classical.
